Minerva's Mercy

This was a fun build. As with all of the kits, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I appreciate the creativity demonstrated in the design of the final product. The little wires, and geared discs, add a touch making the final critter a bit more than just a spider with an awesome weapons package on its back. Speaking of the awesome weapons package. It was, well, awesome.

This is quite a complicated kit but the quality of the parts and the clarity of the instructions mean anyone with enough time and patience can complete it and create a fantastic model. Ther best advice I could give is label the legs with the number of the final construction step for each, it will make connecting them to the body later a lot easier, not all legs are the same! Don't let the number of parts put you off, with the front lighting and plasma ball rear this is a visually impressive kit.

Overall, the thing is a really fun and well-put together figure. I think for any kit building enthusiast, this is a really unique and fun piece. But be warned, it IS tough and has extremely small screws. The instruction manual is clear and well illustrated.

My real criticisms are in two areas
-Due to the nature of it being recycled materials,some parts don't fit together EXTREMELY well. It is not a big problem in the long run... but close examination will show parts that squish together at odd angles. But this did not affect my rating.
- What did is the price. It is really, really expensive. It was only worth it after all the special discounts and all of that and I DO realise that is the point. But I'd rather they just price things more honestly.

Minerva's Mercy is a fun challenge, but patience will prevail! The completed project is a spectacular sight. However, the spectacularity is somewhat diminished because operation of the Tesla bulb, which comprises the bulk of Minerva's body, is limited by the length of a short power cable.

The build itself wasn't too hard, but a lot of the pieces made by the instructions didn't seem to fit together properly. The nuts for the legs pressed too hard against the F10 pieces making it so that they weren't straight and couldn't be tightened well without looking awful. This issue persists through a lot of the steps sadly making the entire build look pretty bad. Don't know if it was just wrong pieces in the instructions or bad pieces overall. Other than that it was enjoyable to build. Just feel that for the price the quality would be better.

I'll admit I was a little anxious about ordering from Mecrob. Would the kit be as good as described? Would I actually be able to build it? Would it even arrive?

Well, I'll never be anxious again. Minerva's Mercy arrived in the stated time (around 2 weeks, perfectly acceptable) and was beautifully packaged and presented. The instructions were pretty clear and easy to follow. There were a couple of ambiguities but they resolved themselves as the build progressed.

There were no missing parts and, in fact, plenty of spares should anything break (nothing did).

Including decent tools was a boon. All I had to add was a couple of pairs of tweezers - try screwing on a 2mm nut with fumbling, slightly shaky sausage fingers :-D

It took me about 3 days to build as I've never attempted anything like this before (and I'm old and shake a bit) and I have to say I enjoyed every moment.

The end result is fantastic, absolutely awesome.

I won't hesitate to buy another model as soon as funds allow.

Yes they re real! I worried that could be scam and flaw, however, I love it!!! Everything assemble well like I seen the video. Look forward to try their other product soon!

This was my second puzzle and after the starters option I really loved this spider. I was impressed with the quality of all the items also the lights are just great.
The book with instructions were really clear but I always take photos and put it on the desktop more easy to zoom in.

Can't wait to start a new puzzle

Loved everything about this build. A few frustrating assembly steps. Would have been nice to know the tools package was in the Part B box.
