Mecrob at Art Shopping Paris 2025: A Celebration of Innovation and Creativity
We’re thrilled to announce that W.A.Y Studio and our brand Mecrob will be attending Art Shopping Paris 2025, one of the most prestigious contemporary art fairs, held at the Carrousel du Louvre! It’s an incredible honor to showcase our mechanical artistry at this iconic venue, with ANHKART as our proud recommender.
A Fusion of Art, Innovation, and Mechanical Aesthetics
Mecrob is dedicated to transforming discarded materials into breathtaking works of art, combining cyberpunk, steampunk, and mechanical aesthetics to craft unique sculptures. Art Shopping Paris provides the perfect platform to share our vision with art lovers, collectors, and fellow creators.
At this year's exhibition, we will be presenting eight original pieces, each with its own intricate mechanical design and deep narrative:
Eden’s Silicon Arbor
Eden Silicon Tree – Artwork Introduction
Created by W.A.Y Studio, Eden Silicon Tree is an art installation that merges nature with technology. It explores the concept of silicon-based life and future ecosystems. Utilizing components from 20th-century electronic devices, everyday metal parts, vacuum tubes, RGB lighting, and acrylic lamps, the piece reconstructs a futuristic, lifelike tree.
This tree symbolizes humanity’s vision of transitioning from carbon-based to silicon-based life while also reflecting on the environmental cost of technological consumerism. It emphasizes the tension between progress and sustainability, serving as both a vision of the future and a mirror of the present.
Techniques & Materials
The installation is constructed using parts from old electronics, assembled with screws for stability. The acrylic sections are laser-cut, while the electrical components, including vacuum tubes and circuits, are hand-soldered and reinforced with UV curing. The combination of lenses and electronic elements gives the piece both a mechanical and organic feel, creating a balance between technology and nature.
Each of these pieces embodies Mecrob’s core philosophy: reimagining the potential of mechanical components through art and design. Whether you're an art collector, an enthusiast of futuristic aesthetics, or simply someone who appreciates fine craftsmanship, our booth will offer an unforgettable experience.
Silhaya
Silhaya – Artwork Introduction
Silhaya, the creator of Eden Silicon Tree, is a mechanical being that connects nature and technology. She embodies the spirit of Gaia, bringing to life silicon-based creatures with both human and insect-like forms.
As both a creator and protector, Silhaya gives her offspring wisdom and order. But as they evolve, questions of fate, control, and freedom emerge. This piece explores the fine line between creation and consciousness, as well as the balance between technology and divinity.
The artwork features ancient Chinese taotie patterns, which symbolize power and the link between heaven and earth. Combined with cyberpunk aesthetics, they create a striking contrast between tradition and the future, mystery and technology, bridging Eastern and Western influences.
Silhaya is the start of a new world. Will her creations follow her design or carve their own path?
Techniques & Materials
A collaboration between W.A.Y Studio and illustrator JDONG!, this installation blends fine art printing with Upcycling, giving old technology a new form.
It is made from 20th-century electronic parts and acrylic from billboards, assembled with screws for support. The acrylic is laser-cut, while the electrical components are hand-soldered and set with UV curing. By combining traditional craftsmanship with modern materials, the piece merges technology and art into a single, evolving entity.
Machina Altar
Machina Altar is an artistic installation that merges mechanics with ritualistic aesthetics, embodying a contemplation of future mechanical civilization. Centered around the concept of a "mechanical altar," it symbolizes the intersection of technology and faith, exploring the delicate balance between artificial creation, divinity, and consciousness.
The piece extends the discourse on the origins of silicon-based life, presenting a mechanical structure that exudes the mystique of ancient relics. It serves as both a symbol of technology and a vessel for ritual. The construction emphasizes mechanical precision and vitality: components are fastened with screws, acrylic elements are laser-cut into form, and the electrical system is meticulously hand-soldered and UV-cured. This craftsmanship creates a striking tension between the stark metallic coldness and the fluid interplay of light and shadow.
In its oscillation between stillness and motion, Machina Altar evokes the imagery of technological worship, redefining machines not merely as tools but as conduits of faith, connecting humanity to a futuristic world.
Aegis Grasp
Aegis Grasp explores the future of machines and silicon-based life. Its name represents strength, protection, and the power of technology.
The design combines biomechanical shapes with futuristic technology, reflecting ideas of control and order. It acts as both a shield and a source of strength, showing how machines might evolve alongside life. The structure balances raw power with detailed mechanical beauty.
Made with 3D printing and upcycled materials, Aegis Grasp blends artificial and natural forms. Everyday parts are taken apart and reassembled, giving them new meaning and creating a mix of strength and flexibility.
Standing between logic and mystery, Aegis Grasp is a monument to technology, human ambition, and the unknown future.
